Hold Peace

[I was asked to start my grandmothers funeral when the minister was very late. This is a prayer from that day at her grave. She had danced on the site earlier, which was her beautiful way.]

Hold peace with integrity when we acknowledge the strength of bonds made here
Hold peace within your heart knowing love exists beyond here
Hold peace that nothing created can ever be destroyed
Hold peace as only you can, in your own way and in your own time
Hold peace in knowing comfort with others in unexplainable [and magical] ways
and trust the whispers of memories that are links to our beloved’s space within our hearts

Death teaches us to love; to cherish yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  May we honor the cycle of existence within our pain.
[and recognize our blessings in all that is true within our lives.] Amen
